the pub crackles with Alan's energy and enthusiasm,
he's fairly new to the trade, but his genuine hospitality
more than compensates. People come for the food as well:
figs baked in red wine, topped with goat's cheese and chorizo,
or grilled fish from the south coast. Bedrooms have the
same effortless charm and the sweet serenity of Wiltshire
lies just down the lane. Modest, ineffably pretty, and great
